My Spring Break

Day 1:     Brigitte, Mason, Natalie and I left Saturday March 31st for Natalie's gymnastics meet in Ogden.  From there we headed to San Bruno California to see Nick, Jasmine, Isis and Phoenix.  Our car was buffete3d by high winds all day.  We went through 3 sandstorms and stopped in Reno to spend the night.  The Donner Pass was closed unless you had chains on your tires. Brigitte was a trouper so the kids gave her a massage, then we all went to bed.

Day 2:   We woke up, ate, then drove through the pass and all the way to Nick's house without any difficulties.  The kids were so happy to see each other.

Day 3: We all took a walk along a beach trail and stopped to play in the sand. Then ate yummy pie at a place called Shari's.
Day 4: Wow! Went to Golden Gate Park and to a Science Center where we saw animal, fish, butterflies and more. The best part was an exploration room   I liked the albino alligator, the frogs that looked like the were made from clay, and the jellyfish.

DAY 5: Today we went to a Mall.  I spent time with the girls at Build-a-Bear workshop and they both got to take one home. Daisy for Phoenix and Ally for Natalie.  The boys divided their time between the LEGO store and Games Workshop store.  Isis took home LEGOS and Mason took home an X-box 360 game.  Then we went to the fabulous place called the Exploratorium.   Of course, the boys loved seeing scat from different animals.Lots and lots of this to do and see.  I've always wanted to sit in a giant chair and now I have done it.

DAY 6-8: Jasmine's family arrive from Australia. We visited went shopping and played board games. Max and Rick arrived (they flew in) We ate at a great sea food place in downtown San Francisco and visited the Redwood Forest. We celebrated Easter with a coloring activity and egg hunt. We attended Isis Baptism and Confirmation. Then we drove home. I had a great Spring break.

10 weeks of pottery class over

Well, my pottery class is over and I learned a lot. I even tried my hand a two types of clay together to make a marbled effect. I like the way my bowls turned out except for the pottery that was all dark clay. They didn't take the glaze color very well so the colors aren't as vibrant. Enjoy looking! Family members can make a request for a particular piece and they MAY get the one they want. Rick get first pick.

marbled pottery:  bowl, vase, small dish

shades of blue pottery: candel holder, casserole dish, 2 bowls, 4 necklace beads

shades of tan pottery: 3 bowls, vase, 4 christmas tree stars

More quilts

I made 26 more quilts.
Gave away 8 to Sally's family and 3 to Rebbecca Hume's children. (I visit teacher her.)
Now, I plan to give the rest to CAPSA.
I got to spend last week in Idaho Falls visiting with Sally and Family. While there we celebrated Samuel's 1st birthday. Also this month Sally and Andy have birthdays. So the whole week was one big party.

Thanks!

Hello Family,
Thank you so much for sending your words about Rick. He was very overwhelmed with your love. He cried happy tears and it worked wonders with his attitude.
This photo was not spontaneous as I had planned (my camera was out of batteries) so he had to pose...the look says "I can't believe I am that loved."
Thank-you again.
Love, Pat/ Mom/G-ma

Cancun 2012

We went to Cancun Feb 13-20 with Max, Brigitte, Mason, Natalie and Brent (Brigitte's dad) Here are some photos we took. We snorkeled, grandpas and grand kids went para sailing, snorkeled down an underground river, attended a fabulous Mayan show, went to Mayan ruins (Tulum) saw giant sea turtles (and other wildlife from the area) rode on a catamaran, suntanned on the beautiful white sand beach, and more. It was very busy and Rick came home tired. Luckily he has had two very easy days at work and has recovered. Mason wanted to stay forever and had a plan to leave on our all inclusive bracelets (so we could eat whenever we wanted) and sleep on the beach. Natalie is at a gymnastics meet, Max is back at work and I'm here making this blog. xoxo Pat

3rd set - Quintuplets

Quilts, that is, not kids.

I find it amazing that the material I find @ DI comes in waves of the same colors.
This time it was blue and yellow!
