It’s always fun when Granma comes!
Now Granma B. is the QUEEN of fun activities under a dollar – check this out for a fun activity to do with your kids or your classroom!
1. Eyes and Mouth Stickers from Joanne’s Fabric (using a 40% off coupon to make them even cheaper)
2. Scraps of paper cut into random but specific shapes by the children (great for scissor practice and shape recognition)
3. Bits and bobs (any scrap foam pieces or such that you may have laying around to add to the variety of the little shape people)
And about a dollar later, you have two solid hours of educational, imaginary fun! Phoenix told me all their names this morning – the name that impressed me the most was Mr Hexagon!! She now knows what a hexagon is! Go granma!!!

Happy 4th of July
Hello Family and Friends,
Happy 4th of July. I spent July 2nd and 3rd in Idaho Falls with my Dad and wife Kaye. The city has a great tradition of carrying over 2000 flags down 17th street and planting them in a field for all to view. You can volunteer to carry a flag and can carry it in the name of someone you know who served in the armed forces. (anyway, that is how I remember the way it works.) We drove to the "Field of Flags" and it brought tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. What a great privilidge I have to live in America and enjoy the freedoms won for me.My dad has lost weight and is about as thin as he was as a young father. He is pale and has a hard time getting up from his chair. I love the way he bends back in the chair and pushes himself forward and tries to propel himself out. When he remembers to scoot forward hes get up much easier. As I kissed him good bye tears sprang forth. I'm so happy he is my father and hope he has more years ahead so I can enjoy him. I admire so much his positive attitude. I ALWAYS LOVE HIS FOOD. He served us a great stromboli...didn't even know about it before this trip.

Recently acquired photograph of my mother-she is beautiful!
There is not a date attached to this photograph but I'm guessing it was taken around the time my mother was a nurse in Alaska. (approx.1943)
